CSA VEGGIE DELIVERY BOX

We're launching a CSA!
What is a CSA? A CSA (short for Community Supported Agriculture) is essentially another term for a veggie box program. It has been a way for the community to help support local farms for generations, and it comes with perks! By becoming a "shareholder" in our farm you'll receive a weekly veggie box filled with seasonal produce like salad mix, tomatoes, garlic, onions, zucchini, carrots, cabbage, cucumbers, peppers, and so much more. We love to grow it all and share it with our community! By purchasing a share of our CSA, you'll be ensuring that GreenerFarms goes on and is able to grow organically with the soil, the planet, and the people in mind.
Investment for the 10-week veggie delivery program:
FULL SHARE (FEEDS 1-4 PEOPLE)
$825 ($800 + $25 bin deposit includes delivery) - $100 deposit to hold your space.

SPOTS FOR THE CSA ARE LIMITED. YOUR DEPOSIT SECURES YOUR SPOT; NOT THIS APPLICATION. ALL DEPOSITS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE.

Both options can be paid via e-transfer to info@greenerfarms.ca or in cash.
We will be using reusable rubbermaid boxes for the veggie program and will require a deposit of $25 for two boxes. This deposit will be refunded. You will get this money back at the end of the 22 weeks - once we have our bins back!
We really hope to have you as a shareholder of our 2023 season. It would mean the world for us to share our passion for growing (and our passion for food) with all of you.
We know you may have some questions about this program, and if so, read on!
FAQ:

Wondering what we're growing this year?

FALL VARIETY: Heirloom tomatoes, Bell and snacking peppers, Snacking cucumbers, Roots bunches (carrots, beets, radishes, turnips, salad turnips), Salad Mix, Onions, Leeks, Celery, Kale Mix, Swiss chard, Zucchini, Potatoes, Cabbage (Red, green, or Napa), Broccoli, Cauliflower, Winter squash (butternut, spaghetti, delicata), Bok choy, Spinach and arugula mix, Dill, Cilantro

Can I cancel my CSA?
This CSA is a full season commitment. We will not be issuing any refunds! A CSA is a beautiful commitment to a farmer that you trust; we honour that commitment and work very hard to fulfill on our promise to grow beautiful food for you and the community!
What if I need to miss a week of the CSA?
There will be no transfers to other weeks. You’re welcome to gift the box to someone or split it with some loved ones!
Do you have payment plans?
We can arrange for payment plans if the payment in full is a barrier. We tried a weekly payment plan in the past but it did not work out. As growers, we plan crops according to those who have committed to the CSA and it's very hard to make adjustments to membership (ie. if people cancel) because we plant crops months in advance of harvest. This means we have to take some measures to make sure that our work and plans are honoured! If we agree to a payment plan, we are still hoping that you will honour your full season payment commitment.
Can I choose my veggies?
It's very likely but not guaranteed! We will be sending out a weekly email listing the veggies that will be in the box. If we have lower than expected availability, we will ask you for your 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choices and based on the order of response we will get you one of these three bundles.
How many veggies will I get each week?
For the full share you can expect to receive a variety of 6-10 veggies per week depending on what we have in stock. For the half share you will receive the same variety and half of the quantity of each item! You'll always have a beautiful variety of greens, alliums, nightshades, root veggies, and more! Less variety in a given box = higher quantity of the other produce available. More variety = less quantity per item.
What if there's a freak storm or accident?

Our 2023 CSA Program is non-refundable, even in the unlikely event of crop loss due to extreme weather. The original goal of a CSA was to support a farmer through good years and bad. We are very diligent with our crop planning and with our sustainable practices; it is very, very unlikely that we will lose every single crop. That's the beauty of growing over 40 different varieties of vegetables on less than an acre - whatever does well and is overflowing with abundance will find its way to our shareholders. In a bad year, there may be less bounty. But not every year is bad, and the next year might be filled with incredible harvests, and you'll make out like an organic veggie bandit! With that being said, as a shareholder of the GreenerFarms CSA, you're assuming the risks involved with outdoor growing and understand that wins and losses are felt equally by farmer and eater. We will do our absolute best to get you the highest quality food we can.

You are welcome to send any additional questions to info@greenerfarms.ca! We hope to have you as a shareholder this year!
